Novel Capital is a Kansas City-based fintech funding platform that breaks down the growth barriers faced by early-stage B2B SaaS companies by providing revenue-based funding and operational sales expertise. Founded in 2018, Novel has provided funding to over 250 tech companies.

This is Carlos Antequera’s second venture. Creative Capsule was his trusted technology partner for 6 years before his Education SaaS company, Netchemia, was acquired by Vista Equity Partners. When Novel needed to staff up its dev team, Creative Capsule was their natural choice.

To support Novel’s tight timelines for developing its platform, Creative Capsule’s cloud engineers opted for AWS, ASP.NET Core and Angular. The Business Analysis and UX teams collaborated with Novel to design a hassle-free user experience from application, onboarding, and funding to payment collection for the startup owners needing capital.

To speed up funding decisions, Novel needed an advanced underwriting module. Creative Capsule’s team designed the data integration architecture and built APIs that ingest large volumes of data from various Accounting, Banking, e-commerce, CRM, and HRIS platforms used by loan applicants. The KPIs are presented via insightful dashboards to Novel’s underwriters to facilitate their decision-making process and to measure the business’ ongoing performance.
